BITE! The Art and Science of Carnivorous Plants

BITE! The Art and Science of Carnivorous plants is a fictional museum exhibit hosted by the Tallahassee Science Museum. The goal is to educate the public about the lesser known forms of carnivorous plants and the science behind the mechanisms of capturing prey. This museum would feature many live carnivorous plants that visitors could observe and learn about. Carnivorous plants are not just killers. They instead use a variety of seductive techniques to lure prey in to their deaths, often utilizing techniques which make the insects assume they are a food source. This theme is maintained throughout the exhibit and narrative literature.Through this project a logo, two indoor walls, one outdoor walls, and a piece of narrative literature was created. I appreciated the challenge of creating a successful and aesthetic museum exhibit.

Initial ideas for informative indoor exhibit walls. Initially the theme of the museum was quite different and all of these ideas were scrapped. The original sketches didn't quite fit the theme of the final presentation.
